Major Accomplishments while serving the city of Brevard:
Preserved and protected Brevard’s dramatic background, the Bracken Creek Watershed area, and leveraged that asset to generate funds for infrastructure improvements and quality of life enhancements.

Implemented the Transportation thoroughfare plan which synchronized lights to move traffic thru Brevard and prevented one-way streets from being implemented. Thus preserving the function of the infrastructure we currently have, and creating additional parking.
Implemented the Downtown Demonstration Block that set the example and encouraged additional commercial investment in downtown Brevard.
Implemented the Pedestrian Plan through building the links to the Brevard Hike/Bike multi-use paths.
Authorized a wage classification study and implemented the recommendations for all city of Brevard employees.
Passed the City of Brevard Industrial and Manufacturing Incentive Policy. A resolution aligned with the County’s, encouraging and supporting new development and the expansion of the industrial and manufacturing base by providing assistance to the manufacturing and industrial developers when they are proposing significant capital investment and job creation.
Established Brevard’s current Water and Sewer System Extension policy and also worked with the County to extend water lines to Gaia Herbs to improve their fire rating and assist them in their continued growth and contributions to our economic base.
Identified the scope of the problem and started implementing a plan of action to tackle much needed repair and improvements to an aging utility infrastructure.
Passed a Unified Development Ordinance that combined and clarified the city’s development rules. It included development requirements that came from community input through the Focus 20/20 initiative. |
